Birmingham On My Mind

Lately, I've been reminiscing about past trips I've taken and my mind keeps coming back to good ole' Birmingham, AL. It's really a great time there. They've built up so much and still in the process of doing so. I'm going to list some of the spots I hit up while visiting. Green Acres

This hole in the wall is a historic Birmingham tradition that has some of the best greasy plate favorites in the city! From their lemon pepper fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, gizzards, fried okra, and their amazing red velvet cake that's prepared on a daily, this place will have you dreaming of wanting to go back again & again. Village Tavern

How about the best crab dip served with sour dough garlic bread, crabcakes galore, string french fries, and apple cobbler or a cheesecake flight for dessert. This place is absolutely YUMMY! The cozy seating that makes you feel like you're in a carriage house with a fireplace that makes you want to curl up with a good book. Could you imagine if you really did curl up with a book in the restaurant...hilarious! So after you've eaten at Village Tavern, you can walk up to tons of outdoor shopping. Brookwood Village Shopping Center

Plenty of your go-to stores are here: Macy's, a southern favorite- Belk, Z-Gallerie, and a sensational selection of eateries. We didn't have time to go here but we managed to do a quick drive by. It's really beautiful and a nice place to walk around and enjoy the huge water fountains if you're not in the mood to shop.

Now I bet Birmingham is on your mind now, right! Told ya it's a fun town!

Social Circle

Our family vacation trip is approaching and this year we're heading south. I talked to my mom about this southern buffet- Blue Willow Inn, which is located in Social Circle, GA. I love the name Social Circle..just has such a ring to it. Anyways, they have the best southern buffet ever! Like, seriously! Careless or Careful

-My sinuses are driving me crazy!
-I want to go on vacation
-I am on edge today in hopes of writing will make me feel better
-I'm running 4 miles today

-Work, work, work! Isn't there more to life than just work!

-Had a convo with my sis this weekend about life in general & responsibility
-I mean life is short and at the end of the day, this ish doesn't really matter- all the worrying, stressing, running here & there..for what!?
-We'll all be gone from this material plane in 70 years.
-That's if the world will even sustain that long
-This world is not our home...we're just a passing through..our treasures are laid out..somewhere beyond the blue
-I'd still like to replinish the earth w/ my contribution of 3 children
-I have their names and have pretty much given birth-in my head, that is:)

Fishing For Nets

I guess it's practically out of season to wear fishnets..but is it really? Now if you live in the Midwest..it isn't! But if it gets too hot, then yes, who really wants to walk around with hosiery on..one wants to be free, right? So depending on how you look at it, I'm still posting my love of fishnets as I will break 'em out again in say...like 5 months!

Picture This..

I've always wanted to do a wall of frames in my home. I wasn't sure if there was some sort of theme I needed to model off of so that each frame would compliment one another. However, these photos I've recently encountered gave me inspiration that there are really no rules and to simply think outside of the box.

What a hip space to have while working the day job. Lovin' that Jimi Hendrix piece.


Here we have some black/white & color images with mostly black frames. What a difference a framed picture makes- this sleek and clean white space pops.

Love a loft space and look at that staircase with the little photos or magnets or both! Contemporary, yet modern.



Not feeling the framed pictures? Well, there are always mirrors.


I really love the couch in this photo here. I'm such a sucker for mircrofiber & velvet furniture...but that's another post!
